Building (or rebuilding) a website is a big decision, and we’re here to make the process as easy as possible. Most of our frequently asked questions for Vancouver Island web design can be found here, and if you have further questions we’re happy to book a quick intro call!
Building a new website varies in costs depending on a few factors, and we’ll walk through things on our first intake call. The design & build can range anywhere from $2,500 – $7,500 depending on complexities and needs. Are we doing online booking, or integrating a payment processor/booking calendar? Is there any custom coding/PHP required? We’ll go through all of the options together in a clear and concise manner so you have all of the answers up front.
Here’s the thing … some agencies upcharge for non-essentials – hosting is one that comes to mind. To combat that, we set you up independently with a local Vancouver Island hosting company who provides us support, and the charges are never passed along, or marked up. Your hosting will cost you $174/year CAD. We offer optional to the minute maintenance/update packages.
We sure do. If you come to us with an oudated website and you’d like something more modern, we’re happy to provide a refresh. We make sure that your website never goes down – we build your staging site on our server and launch once final approval is given.
We’ve been at this for a number of years, and we’re pretty available to not only know which industry benefits from which platform, but also which platform goes well with your skill levels for updating ease. We’ve built a beautiful Squarespace website for a North Vancouver artist in a way that she could manage her own inventory. No. Wix advertises itself as being the “cheap” option for website builders with limited knowledge, while its back end is notoriously inefficient. Furthermore, the self-hosting marries you to its platform solely – and the final nail in the coffin is Wix’s inescapable bloat which is harmful for SEO. If you’re comfortable updating your Wix site that’s great – but we won’t be the agency you work with on it.
Absolutely – we’ve built websites and handled digital marketing campaigns for clients across Canada. We are not currently accepting US clients, and are always happy to provide recommendations.
Not by a long shot. We did a hosting audit for a previous client who was spending over $800/year with GoDaddy for: hosting, email, an SSL certificate, security backups on their website. We were able to provide the same service with Hosting Nation for less than 1/4 of the price. GoDaddy domain purchases are cheap, but the unnecessary add-ons are expensive.
